Creating a civilization
Anchors
Claim land by placing a Respawn Anchor, then keep it alive with emeralds.
Creating a claim#
The Respawn Anchor is Minter's claim block. Place one and every block within a 96-block radius gains custom HP, which turns your base into a claim. Claims appear on the live map and in the compass.
- Getting an anchor. Complete Nether ruins.
- Upkeep. Anchors need emeralds to function. Right-click the anchor to add upkeep.
- Checking HP. Once upkept, right-click any block with an empty hand to see its HP.
- Grace period. A newly placed anchor takes about an hour to show up on the map.
Earning upkeep#
Emeralds come from the economy you build. Place buildings, /employ other players and collect taxes, then use energy to power crop and mob farms and trade the produce with villagers.
Anchor menu#
Right-click a placed anchor to manage it:
Upgrading protection#
Every anchor starts at Tier Ø (350 HP). It's cheap, but usually not enough to stop even an amateur raid. Click Upgrade in the menu and pick a tier.
| Tier | Upkeep | Block HP |
|---|---|---|
| Tier Ø | Starting tier | 350 |
| Tier ɪ | 48 emeralds/day | 750 |
| Tier ɪɪ | 96 emeralds/day | 1,250 |
| Tier ɪɪɪ | 144 emeralds/day | 1,750 |
| Tier ɪv / v | Requires surrounding nodes | Invulnerable |
Invulnerable tiers ɪv and v only apply to areas surrounded by nodes. Raiders must break a node before they can push deeper into your claim.
Defending against sieges#
- Bury the anchor. Obsidian walls force raiders to spend far more hits and TNT.
- Layer your defenses. Multiple walls and gaps slow cannons down and give defenders time to respond.
- Never miss upkeep. An unpaid anchor is an unprotected anchor.
- Ring it with nodes. Upgraded nodes unlock invulnerable tiers at the core of your claim.
- Log off inside. Your log-off head is only safe inside a claim.
Block access with paper#
Setting up a public shop? Left-click an interactable block (a button, chest, door and so on) with paper to cycle its access level:
- Private (default). Only players on the anchor, or players inside their own building's range.
- Trusted. Players inside buildings in your claim.
- Public. Anyone.
